Adjacent to Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, Finland’s largest hotel building was completed in summer 2024. This impressive complex includes not only hotel rooms but also a state-of-the-art conference centre, the Elements Spa, a gym, and on the top floor, an à la carte restaurant and cocktail bar with a rooftop terrace.

Duuri played a key role in refining the unique style of the Clarion Hotel Helsinki Airport. Interior architects from the Swedish firm Tengbom created a true oasis for air travellers, combining modern Scandinavian design with sophisticated Asian ambience. This fusion of cultures is known in interior design as the Japandi style, which is reflected in the hotel’s public spaces through robust materials such as stone flooring, solid wood detailing, and Scandinavian designer furniture.

Duuri had the honour of contributing the final touches to various interior elements, including Carbon Black corner guards for staircase and lift lobby walls. The hotel’s elegant oak staircases were protected with black anodized stair nosing, featuring safety grooves and a stylish accent.

The stunning tiling in the Elements Spa areas was also completed using Duuri’s tile trims and finishing profiles. Custom-anodized corner guards were produced specifically for the project to complement Tengbom’s nature-inspired Japandi aesthetic.

Countless Duuri inspection hatches and floor hatches were also supplied.

In addition to Duuri Oy, other companies within the Duuri Group contributed extensively to the hotel project:

PRP – Pohjanmaan Rakennuspelti supplied perforated aluminium façade panels, creating a rhythmic and striking exterior. Duuri’s Seinäjoki factory manufactured unique façade panels designed by SARC Architects, which give the building a dynamic appearance that changes with the viewing angle and time of day.

Scanmikael showcased its expertise in elegant interior glass railings and the outdoor railings of the 12th-floor Skyroom Rooftop Bar. Their production in Pori delivers high-quality glass solutions for hotels, offices, shopping centres, schools, hospitals, and public spaces.

It was a great pleasure for the entire Duuri Group to be part of this exceptional hotel project!
